KOEL was founded in the Netherlands in 2006 as Koel4Kids and is now one of Europe's leading manufacturers of children's barefoot shoes. The shoes are designed in the Netherlands and exclusively manufactured in Portugal. KOEL developed the barefoot-friendly lasts with last expert Bill Hanusch. They are made from chrome-free tanned, certified organic leather, merino wool, vegan materials, and natural rubber – with removable insoles, thin flexible soles, a wide toe box, and zero drop.
