Frequently asked questions about barefoot shoe accessories
Do normal insoles fit in barefoot shoes? Mostly not well – normal insoles are narrower and often supportive. OmaKing insoles are cut extra wide for the spacious toe box and can be custom-trimmed to fit perfectly.
How do I care for leather barefoot shoes? Smooth leather with cream or wax, nubuck and suede with a brush and waterproofing spray. You can find suitable products at Collonil.
How do I properly wash washable barefoot shoes? Ideally in a laundry bag at 30 °C on a gentle cycle, then air dry – do not tumble dry or place on a heater. The bag protects the sole and upper material from friction in the drum.
Are waterproof socks an alternative to waterproof shoes? For many situations, yes – with Sealskinz socks, your feet stay dry even in non-waterproof barefoot shoes. Make sure the shaft is high enough for your activity.
