KOEL was founded in 2006 in the Netherlands as Koel4Kids and is now one of the leading European manufacturers of children's barefoot shoes. Designs are created in the Netherlands, and production takes place exclusively in Portugal. KOEL developed the barefoot-friendly lasts with last expert Bill Hanusch. Materials used include chrome-free tanned, certified organic leather, merino wool, vegan materials, and natural rubber – in addition to removable insoles, thin flexible soles, a wide toe box, and zero drop.

Are KOEL shoes waterproof? The natural rubber boots Wibi and Wini are waterproof, as is the winter boot Milo 3.0 Hydro WP thanks to its membrane. The leather and suede sneakers are not – for wet days, choose the boots.
