Description

What is the Doghammer Terrar Rock High WP suitable for?

Designed for hiking days when the weather doesn't play along: this ankle-high barefoot hiking boot keeps your feet dry on wet forest trails, stony paths, and marked trails in low mountain ranges. The manufacturer also intends it for travel and everyday urban use.

Dry feet in the rain: The waterproof membrane keeps moisture out while remaining breathable and is free of PTFE and PFC. It is covered by certified leather from Europe.

Feel the ground, even on rough terrain: The Vibram sole was developed specifically for barefoot shoes; it flexes easily and grips with a sturdy tread on damp stones and forest floors. A 5.2 mm sole and zero-drop heel give you more feedback from the terrain than a classic hiking boot.

Protection where things get rough: The high shaft and the all-around debris guard keep stones, branches, and scree away from your feet without stiffly encasing the ankle. At the front, the anatomically shaped toe box gives your toes plenty of freedom.

Due to the membrane, the shoe may initially feel a bit firmer and denser than a model without one. According to the manufacturer, it becomes noticeably softer and more flexible after a short break-in period.

In the box: 1 pair of Doghammer Terrar Rock High WP, packed in our plastic-free packaging.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I wear socks with these shoes?

Yes, absolutely. The name ‘barefoot shoe’ describes the feeling of movement (wide toe box, thin flexible sole, zero drop), not a bare foot.

How much space should there be in the front of the shoe?

Allow for at least 12 mm in addition to your foot length. If you usually wear a half size, round up (39.5 → 40).

Is the insole removable in this shoe?

Yes, the insole is removable. It is made from recycled wine corks.

I am wearing barefoot shoes for the first time – what should I pay attention to?

Sore muscles in your calves and soles are normal in the first few weeks – your muscles are being challenged in new ways. Start with 30–60 minutes a day and increase gradually. If you have existing foot ailments or joint problems, consult your doctor or orthopedist before switching.

Does the high shaft support my ankle when hiking?

Only to a limited extent: The shaft primarily protects against stones, branches, and scree; your foot and leg muscles still need to do the stabilizing. According to the manufacturer, even a high shaft cannot fundamentally prevent rolling an ankle.
